Have you met Sandy?

{title of post may be related to the TV marathon I watched last night}

This is Sandy, me and Christina...I love these girls! We've known each other a long time (I think we may be closing in on 10 years?) and we've been through A LOT together. Sandy is the type of friend who will do anything for you. 10 trips to Kinko's to get a perfectly notarized recommendation for your adoption dossier? Done! Featuring my babies all over her blog (usually decked out in Auntie Sandy swag)? Absolutely? Offering to make a gigantic pinata for your son's 7th birthday? In progress!

In addition to being my bestie, Sandy is the Milwaukee Cupcake Queen and the creator of IronCupcake Milwaukee. This short video really speaks to what this amazing event is all about. (Oh and when Sandy talks about that initial "smackdown" that started things off? Yep, I was there!)

Each month's Iron Cupcake has a theme and to go along with that theme, Sandy hand-picks a charity to feature. Yep, in addition to all the yummy cupcakes you get to taste and vote for, your admission fee also goes to support amazing charities. This month's theme is Pink supporting Susan G. Komen for the Cure! Such a great cause, such a great event...thank you for all you do Sandy! (IC is so much fun!! Go, go, go!!! And make sure to say hi to my brother if he's working the door too!)

Big things are happening for my dear friend...and it's SO deserved! Thank you Sandy for creating such an amazing event in out city (and everywhere else the craze has now spread) and thank you for all the good you do through Iron Cupcake too! Love you!!!

Yeah, um, hi...crying...

also, you left out the part about being an expert stalker of unobtainable men, a frustrated and unemployed graphic design goddess and I am guessing that Top Chef Just Desserts must have sparked this post. (I watched it 3 times last night during my summer of insomnia).

I LOVE YOU.

and now I'd like to open my own cupcake shop...anyone want to fund that: :) I knew this was big but I had no idea that we really didn't have any cupcake shops around to sort of expose and support the whole idea! Hmmm.....

I so wish I could go too...stupid work!
