World AIDS Day

Today is World AIDS Day...
In 2009, 33.3 million people were living with HIV. There were 206 million new infections and 1.8 million AIDS-related deaths.
370,000 children were born with HIV and 16.6 million children (ages 0-17) lost their parents due to HIV. There were 2.5 million children under age 15 living with HIV.

And for all the crafters out there, here is a new project I found and can't wait to get started working on! Knit a Square ... and make an AIDS orphan warm. You make a square, they combine them into blankets for orphans in southern Africa. Their goal for this year is 5000 blankets!
