Summer Fun No. 18, Magic Powder Experiment

This science experiment captivated the 7, 4 and 2 year-old (as well as Mom & Dad) and was super easy.  Highly recommended by this household!

Start with these...
{each spoon has a couple drops of food coloring which is covered with baking soda}

 Bring along a tray of these & head outside!
{half of the cups are filled with water & half of them contain vinegar}

Mix them together one at a time.  You'll have some that just change color and some that change color with a bang!


The best part was eager scientists like these...

 ...who loved every minute and couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had, who ended up with each color, and how many times the mixture "exploded" (thankfully they each got one through the luck of the draw).
