Cause I'm A Freak... (WIP 26)

This past weekend I was home alone (well post-Livie bedtime) and I decided to drag out an old project (versus starting yet another new one).  I started this blanket so long ago that I don't even know when (I asked for pattern advice here...in July of 2010) and as is often the case when it's something for myself...it's still a WIP.

At any rate, I added a few color rows on Saturday and the next morning the blanket looked like this...

But...the new rows (plus a few from the last time I pulled it out) were longer than the previous rows...like by an inch or two.  I'm not sure if I grabbed a different size hook or if after a year of not touching the blanket my tension is different, but...not so good whatever the reason.

So on Monday afternoon, the blanket looked like this...

And then I got back to work and this morning my blanket looks like this...

Could be worse, right?  Now the trick is that I can't allow myself to start any other projects until I finish this blanket!  Let me just tell you that is much tougher than it sounds.

looks very pretty...like the colors! you have some mad patience though my friend, holy cow! See, now that's why I can't tackle yarn projects I think!

Gosh, I'd never have the intestinal fortitude to rip that much out and start again! Good for you!

Oh wow, this blanket has had quite a journey in just a few days! Sorry about the frogging (which I, like Minding My Own Stitches, would never have the patience to frog-and-redo), but it looks awesome, and it will be a much happier blanket with all the rows the same length. ;)

Lots of hugs! It must have been hard to frog all of that! But Kathleen is right, you will feel much better about the finished blanket if you've done it properly.

I would have done that same thing, but EEK! that was a lot to frog!
Looks like you got a great new start. I also force myself to finish old projects before starting new ones, it's tough but it gets the job done!

I love this! That's great! I would have frogged back too... I need it to be perfect, or I just can't handle it. Your colors are AWESOME!

good on you for pulling it back out. I have tons of those types of wips hiding around the place.

I am currently trying the same tacting, not starting anything new until i finish at least something. its so boring!!

Good for you jumping right back on that horse. If I frog a project I usually need to take a small break from it, I just get so annoyed! Adore colorful blankets, I'm sure this one will be perfect when its done.
