Sister Fun

Auntie Sandy got the girls these fun new guys.  The girls didn't even know what the guys were all about at this point as we had not seen the movie, but they fell in love immediately with Oh and Pig.

The girls also might like baseball a little bit...

And hanging out with each other...

EJ created a cup sculpture while her parents enjoyed a drink at one of our favorite local breweries.

We finally saw Home and the girls brought their friends to enjoy the show too.

Easter at Grandma S's house.  We're so happy to have her still with us and feeling SO much better!

Drumming Birthday

The girls had birthdays recently and we decided to do a joint birthday party at a nearby (and awesome) nature center.  They offered a drumming theme as one of their party options and the girls both jumped at the chance to try out some new drums.

After doing some drumming, the group went on a nature hike outside.  They found lots of bugs and snakes and spotted birds and squirrels with their binoculars.

Checking out the sundial

The best part (for me) was that the nature center provided all the plates and cups as they use reusable items.  We just needed to bring the cakes.  We had the grocery store make up these fun drum-themed cakes (we gave them an inspiration photo and color schemes) and we added the marshmallow drum sticks.

The girls collected donations for a charity in lieu of presents.  Usually we pick something that goes along with the theme of the party, but we couldn't come up with anything affordable for the guests having to do with drumming.  So instead, they decided to help kids and collected underwear and socks for kids at a local family shelter.
