Chevron Blanket
I've had this chevron blanket pattern from All Things Bright and Beautiful pinned forever because I knew it would be the perfect gift for my friend Cyndi...I mean, the perfect thing! So in preparation for this Christmas, I got to work early (I didn't finish until recently, but I started early) and then I found out Cyndi was moving to a much warmer climate. I'm hoping there are still some chilly times that she might need a cozy blanket!
This was a really fun project to work on...it's a simple pattern, but one you need to keep track of counting-wise so your peaks and valleys stay on track. I also loved working on a blanket pattern that I grew up with as we had a similar (much bigger) blanket on our couch when I was a kid. I loved the colors I chose for Cyndi and the wide-stripe, but you could do this pattern anyway you'd like. These are all different patterns, but show how different you could make this blanket look by changing the stripe pattern (all via Pinterest): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
One more thing...I would like to thank Liz from Crochet in Color for writing about my Sock Monkey Hat that I made using her pattern for a friend's 3rd birthday. Her post is here, my original post is here. I am so thankful for her featuring my work and also her kind words about my version. I'm also extremely thankful that she shares her awesome patterns. I just finished my fourth Soft Stitch Cowl for EJ's teacher gifts. Thanks so much Liz!
Love the stripe of blue! I am sure your friend will love it no matter what the climate is.
Ack! I love!
Agreed...I love too! You can always use blankies :)
The blanket is awesome, I wouldnt have chosen that color combo but it looks great!! I saw your hat over on crochet in color!!
I love the blanket! Great color choices, too.
I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! It's absolutely perfect - pattern, colors, and the cozy factor. I like nothing more than cuddling up with a blanket at night while watching tv/reading/surfing the web and I can promise you that warmer climate be damned -- I'm using that blanket a lot!!!!!
Huge hugs & lots of love to you!!!!
Love it! What yarn did you use?
Yarn is Loops & Threads Impeccable (because I love that deep grey color that they have).
Do you have a pattern for this blanket??
A pattern for this would be awesome :-)
Hello there! Sorry I can't email you directly, but the pattern is linked at the beginning of the post. The pattern is from the blog All Things Bright and Beautiful.
I have attempted this pattern several times but don't end up with enough chains to do a full 14 plus sk 1 st and sc at the end of the foundation chain. Therefore things do not line up after turning . Can you advise what I might be doing wrong? Seems so simple but getting somewhat frustrated
Patti- I'm not sure and it's been awhile since I made this blanket. I used the pattern as written in the link, so chained 183. Make sure you are starting in the right chain from the hook. I'd look online for the tutorials about which truly is the second chain from the hook as I think that might make a difference in where you end up. Good luck!
Don't worry that she wont be able to use it. I live in South Florida and I use my afghan all the time! Yours is beautiful by the way.
I've been attempting the same pattern from Bright and Beautiful, but am having some trouble with losing stitches, ie my edges are slowly creeping in. Did you create the blanket with the original width or did you add?
I did the pattern as written, but it has been ages since I did it so I don't have a lot of tips. Sorry!
Pretty! Working on one now for my grandson.finished one recently for a great friend.they are so addicting!
